What should I do if my Evisa application for Thailand is still submitted and I received a request for further documentation?

This may be a dumb question to many of you Thai travel experts...It was my understanding (and internet research)that once an Evisa is approved/given, your entry date has to be within 3 months. I applied for the 60 day SETV on Oct 3 to be sure it would be available in time for my 57 day trip with a December 5th arrival. I received this short email back: (with the subject line saying Request for further documentation)

Does this mean I have to re-apply in November or just remind them that I need one? I have not seen an email listed on the Thai E Visa Official Website that I can use to "email us on November" I've waited a few days since I received this email and my application is still sitting the "submitted" category

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarity about their Evisa application for Thailand after receiving a request for further documentation. They initially applied for a 60-day Single Entry Tourist Visa (SETV) for a trip scheduled to begin on December 5, but their application status remains 'submitted'. Community members provided advice on contacting the relevant Thai consulate or embassy, ensuring the application year is correct, and suggested resubmitting the application if necessary. An update from the user reveals that they successfully received visa approval after emailing the consulate.

Update: emailed the los Angeles consulate today, and 9 hours later received the approval đź‘Ť

I assume that they need travel (start) date to be around 30 days.. while submitting application.

Though the visa once issued is valid for 90days (making safe for any alterations in programme later)… and that means to enter the country date and after that the 60 days stay period will start on/from the date you enter.

So as per their mail try resubmit same on or around November 5th.

so shall i make a new application in November? And it won't mess me up if I already had one submitted and somewhere in the system?

@Colleen ********
of course you can, as earlier one isn’t passed (processed) yet… or you can check then if it’s showing option on the page to resubmit the same.

Their explanations for everything on the evisa system are terrible.

I wonder if this email is common for anyone applying for 60 day, so i can know whether to worry about it and if I have to reapply or just sit and wait
Ron *******
Looking at the email you posted, it appears to have come from the E visa team in Bangkok.

yes i do believe so

as much as people don't want to believe it, decisions on issuing these E visas are made in Bangkok.

Embassies only ask for more paperwork or and issue the visa letter after Bangkok gives them the go ahead

@Ron ******
I don't believe Bangkok has much if any input in the process, else every embassy that used evisa would have the same requirements. But the requirements are vastly different across the various embassies and consulates.

I actually know the people that work in the UK Thai Embassy.

Apparently they don't even have access to your application until it's given to them from Bangkok.

@Ron ******
Isn't that just a filter to ensure the application goes to the correct Embassy/Consulate?

as always, its a confusing process and with no straight answers. They know what they are doing and what their expectations are...but leaving me in the dark Lol.

@Colleen ********
unfortunately, that's how the Evisa application works.

Check you put the right year in the application and not 2024
Brandon ************
When you started your application you chose a Thai consulate/embassy that would process your visa application. That is who you need to email.

Brandon Thurkettle was there an option to not pick a Thai consulate? So I email them and just ask them how my application is going? Thank you
Brandon ************
@Colleen ********
if you're not sure, start a new visa application and it'll give you the same questions and you can see what it is
Brandon ************
@Colleen ********
no, you would have put what country your passport is, where you are, and then it would have had a drop-down to choose the embassy. The one you picked (there may have only been 1 option) would have been where your application was sent.

They are really the only point of contact there is for you.
