I have just tried to apply for non b working visa in Penang Malaysia. I thought I had all the necessary documents, but they did not accept my application since I didn't have police clearance from my home country. I have police clearance from thailand. I was informed from my agency who prepared the documents as well as my school that the documents I had was enough.

My question: is it normally the case you need police clearance from your home country?

I was already not allowed entry to Thailand since I was coming the second time with arrival tourist visa and 20k thb was not enough apparently. I am currently waiting on my agency response but apart from that I have no idea how I can come back to Thailand. Tourist visa is not an options since I dont want to be put into a cell anymore. Can somebody help me. Any suggestions will be helpful.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user applied for a non-B working visa in Penang, Malaysia but was denied due to a lack of police clearance from their home country, despite having one from Thailand. They were advised by their agency and school that their provided documents were sufficient. The user seeks clarification on whether a home country police clearance is typically required and shares past experiences of being denied entry into Thailand, expressing concern about returning without proper documentation.

Go to vientiane, it’s the easiest consulate to get in.

To get a Non Immigrant B visa your need documents from your emloyer. One of these documents is addressed to the Thai Consulate, you can not just change consulate or you need to go back to your employer to ask a new letter

yes thank you. The problem i will have is that they dont have my homecountry embassy here in penang. And following your checklist it has to be authenticated in the embassy. They have my embassy in kuala lumpur. So maybe i have to ask my agency to change everrytjing again to be addressed to kuala lumpur.

You miss a criminal record from your home country to apply in Penang, now you ask questions about KL, which also request this criminal record. So getting refused again unless you got your criminal record, but if you got it in the mean time you can apply in Penang again.

Joseph Michael Pedro III ok thanks. The problem I still have is that the documents I have are adressed to penang. If i go to kuala lumpur i think they will just tell me to go back to penang as the documents are for Penang.

Bare in mind with any history, Penang is also likely to decline your tourist visa application too.

This is from the checklist: 6. Certified criminal record

in the applicant’s country of origin.

The document must be authenticated by the embassy of

its country of origin. This means the Consulate was correct to deny your application. You can apply for a Tourist visa at the consulate and use that to come back into Thailand for 60 days, possible 30 days Extension to have the time to organize your criminal record. You're confusing the two time landborder crossings without a visa, named Visa Exempt Entry which are only allowed 2 times a calendar year.

i also explained these things. Fucked up thing also was that my mother passed away just one month before. And i had to sort out the inheritance things and also all my things were in thailand. Just wanted to get my life sorted and start my life here in thailand as a teacher but they still treated me like a criminal.

yes sorry for not explaining it clearly before. I have been traveling here many times as a tourist. And when i went to suvarnhabhum one time the immigration officer checked my record and seen that i have been many times in thailand. Suspecting i was working illegally they put me to the side and asked me to show money. I showed them
*****
thb in cash as i heard this is the regular amount to have. The officer said put it away and took my passport. He wrote in my passport not enough money and told me to go to another immigration desk. There they just told me that i was rejeceted entry and deported me back to laos next day. I was in the process of getting a job in thailand as a teacher so i tried my luck in chiang mai and it worked.
Robert *******
Theo Tolan The denied you entry in Thailand and not deported but send you back to Laos. I guess you paid for that ticket. You must have a history of living in Thailand using the visa exempt entry and tourist visa. But at least you try now to become a legal guest in this country.

@Robert ******
it was in cash

@Theo ******
It must be in CASH, showing your phone is not CASH. Going to a ATM is NOT having CASH. It is still 20.000 Thb or equivalent currency in CASH. so if asked you put your hand in your wallet, pocket or money belt and show it directly.

they didnt accept

thb anymore. They said its supposed to be atleast

thb now. I had accomodation and showed them

thb in suvarnhabhum. They didnt accept it. In chiang mai they were more friendly. They gave me the chance to go to atm and that way i could get in thailand.
Robert *******
If you have a Tourist Visa in your passport and have the 3 proofs with you: 20.000 Thb or equivalent currency in CASH, proof of accommodation and proof of onward travel within these 60 days, they chance is small that you get denied entry.

thanks. Last time i was not allowed entry. They wrote in my passport not enough money. And after I got tourist visa and came back to thailand via chiang mai airport they saw that written statement and put me aside. In chiang mai however they agreed that i can go to atm and show my bank funds. After that i was allowed entry. Do you thinkn i will get into more trouble if i do it one more time??
