Hey all,

Since I travel a lot for my work my passport will soon run out of pages, maybe 2 left at present.

When I renew my passport do I need to re-apply for my DTV, or after a trip to immigration can they do something to connect the passports so I carry both till the DTV expires.

I'm thinking I will have to re-apply but not sure.

Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When renewing your passport with only a few pages left, you do not need to reapply for your DTV visa. Instead, you can visit immigration and have them transfer your visa and any relevant stamps from your old passport to the new one. It's advisable to keep both passports while traveling until the DTV expires. Just ensure to bring both the old and new passports to immigration for a smooth transfer process.

Must keep the old passport and show both New and old passport at immigration control

No you never ever have to apply for a long term visa -

Seems like it. At least in Germany, when your passport is full and you apply for a new one for that reason, it will have the same passport number and expiration date, so an eVisa will still be valid. The others said you can ask immigration to transfer the sticker if no eVisa, which makes sense.

You just go to immigration with both passports, and they transfer your current stamps into your new passport. It is very easy to do.

The last 2 pages of passports are INFO pages and can't be used for visa so check that to begin with.

If your DTV is a permanent page in your passport, I believe you'll be carrying 2 passports.

You will not have to renew DTV. You may need to keep the 2 passports with you. I renewed a passport previously but my O was actually stamped in the passport so Immigration transferred it across.

yes, Iā€™m in the same situation. Immigration told me to travel with both passports to keep from any issues.

It has worked numerous times already

I used to be in same position when working. Even the larger passports only lasted a couple of years with stamps and visa pages. Indonesia, Cambodia, China and Vietnam used to be a page at a time. It is not so bad these days.
