TLDR : Answer Summary
If you receive a new passport while having a DTV visa in your old passport, you cannot transfer the visa itself to the new passport. However, you should keep both passports and when needed, you can visit your local Immigration Office to handle any necessary transfers of stay extensions or show both passports when traveling. In some cases, if you received a DTV that is printable with a QR code rather than a physical visa, the handling might differ slightly.

Carry copies of the Evisa email you received. Show it to Thai Immigration Officers upon arrival into Thailand.

hi. Is this correct? I am planning to apply for DTV using my Philippines passport and enter Thailand with my new British passport. Is that ok?

if Manila is using the Evisa online application system, the DTV Visa will be issued by email. COPY and carry the Evisa email with you to show the Thai Immigration Officers upon arrival into Thailand EACH time.

And I would Carry both passports as the DTV Visa was issued to one passport .

WHY complicate things ??? Just enter Thailand with the same passport as approved for the DTV visa?

Is it a Filipino passport issue for you?

Nothing. A visa can't be transferred. Keep a hold of both passports. If you get an extension of stay, you can get the extension stamp transferred.

Not wrong at all. A visa issued from a consulate abroad can't be transferred to another passport.

not wrong. You can't transfer a visa from one passport to another. You can only transfer an extension because it's a stamp and not a sticker.

If you are arriving with a new passport show both. Then when you can go to immigration and get the DTV transferred to new passport.

, Brandon corrected, because extension and visa are different. Extension should be transferred when you get a new passport while visa itself cannot be transferred to a new passport. That’s why different measures are applied when you get a new passport.

You go with both passports to the local Immigration Office to transfer some stamps

If you travel, use both passports
