Hi all,

I just did my 30 day extension on a 60 day tourist visa, and I wish to get a 60 day Covid extension. My question is do I still need to attach a letter from the embassy? Since my embassy is not issuing those.

TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the necessity of an embassy letter for obtaining a 60-day Covid extension on their visa, given that their embassy does not issue such letters. Responses indicated that no embassy letter is required, and various documentation requirements for the extension application were outlined, including specific documents needed by local immigration offices.

Different immigration offices have different requirements, but all require the following:

1. Your passport and:

a. a copy of your data ("picture") page

b. a copy of your most recent visa (if you have one)

c. a copy of your most recent stamp

d. a copy of your departure card

2. A TM30, filed in the immigration office.

3. The forms (each immigration office may have different forms)

4. A letter from your embassy saying you can not return, OR a print out from your embassy saying they don’t issue the letters.

5. 2x passport pictures

6. 1,900 THB.

Different immigration offices have different policies. *SOME* may require:

- The ID card of the property owner where you are staying

- Copies of *ALL* stamped pages in your passport

Thank you James, you're helpful as always 😊

Do you maybe know if it's extended from the day I turn in my application or from the day my 30 day extension expires? And finally do they still give an "under consideration" or simply approve the visa?

TIA

*IN MOST IMMIGRATION OFFICES* the 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 begins on the day you submit your application.

>And finally do they still give an "under consideration" or simply approve the visa?

*IN MOST IMMIGRATION OFFICES*, an "under consideration" stamp is given, where you have to return about 14 days after or thereabouts.
