TLDR : Answer Summary
After moving to Korat, you need to notify the local immigration office about your change of residence. You should file a TM30 form, which is required by the property owner whenever a foreigner stays overnight at a new address. If you're on a 90-day non-O visa, it's crucial to check whether you can apply for a one-year extension at Korat, as some offices might not allow it if the visa was obtained elsewhere.

Go to the Korat immigration office and ask them. I’m going to think they want a TM30 for your wife’s residence or something like it. Here in n Sisaket province a Sisaket immigration officer lived nearby and registered me herself. Later I got a yellow book for our home.

Probably what you need is her blue book. It sounds like you are describing the chanote which is the land document. Bring what you think they might want. Both of you visit the immigration office. You either have what they want . . . or not. They will tell you what they want and then go get it.

Maybe someone from Korat will comment but in the end the immigration office is the definitive source for the answer to your question. You might as well find where the office is located and introduce yourself. While you are there ask what you need for your 1 year extension and how to do 90 day reports.

💯, and what is a blue book

@Rj *****
Every Thai has a residence and it is documented in her blue book. She will know what it is.

I, an American, was able to get a yellow book. It’s the same thing only yellow. I was able to use is as a residency document when buying a motorbike recently.

I wanted a marriage visa but the agent said retirement is so much easier and it was like nothing

Be careful about using an agent. Sometimes they use an immigration office in a province other than the one you are living in.

I did all my 1 year extensions myself for 1,900 baht.

I’m guessing you have an O visa. When you get a 1 year extension you can choose to extend as married or retired. The financial requirements for married are cheaper but the amount of documentation is more and the process may take a few weeks and may include a home visit. Extending as retired is more expensive but there is less documentation and you can get it done in an hour or two.

Are you still on the initial 90 day non-O visa, or are you on the 1 year extension?

If you're on the initial 90 day non-O visa you're going to run into issues when you go to apply for your extension in Korat, because most immigration offices will not allow you to apply for the 1 year extension of you obtained your non-O visa from a different office.

The way you notify immigration if an address change is by filing a TM30 which is required to be filed by the property owner whenever a foreigner stays the night somewhere.

the agency said after you come vack in about 3 weeks and get your passport you should go to the korat office and tell them you are reporting a change of address to your wifes home and fill out the paperwork they want. I will ask the agent to orefill out a tm30 for me so i have it to give them.

@Rj *****
you can ask the office if they use TM28 address change form, but most offices stopped using this a long time ago.

so we are the owner of the home and property, under my wifes name ofc. So she will go with me and fill out a new tm30 for the remainder of the new visa. I will check in every 90 days in korat till it expires and then your saying go back to pattaya to renew the 1 year retirement visa when the time comes

@Rj *****
if you're already on a 1 year extension then there's no issues at all doing your next one in Korat.
