If you go on holiday for a few days and stay in a hotel obviously the hotel will file a TM 30 .Does your IO know that this has happened and may require you to do a new TM 30 when you return home or just not bother ?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirement to file a new TM30 upon returning home after a short vacation in Thailand varies by immigration office and individual circumstances. Some community members report that their hotels file the TM30 automatically, and upon returning home, they have not needed to submit a new TM30 if they return to the same residence. Others suggest it is best to file a new TM30 online for safety and compliance, especially if you're traveling between different locations or returning from abroad. It's generally advised to check with your local immigration office for their specific policies regarding TM30 filings.
The rules vary at some offices, but in Nakhonsawan they told me I don't have to renew, even when I leave the country, as long as I have a re-entry permit.
From personal experience. Yes, I went to see them to start my application 2 days later. I took my parents to Bangkok to fly home. We stayed in the hotel. We get the phone call from the I o questioning, made us go back and redo the pink form we explained the reason of why I was stationed at my wife's farm. But staying in the hotel in Bangkok, they accepted. But if in the future, I stay in other hotels because of my wife's workload, they said to do an online update to them
I was told by my lawyer about this and if I have a long-term lease at say a condo and I travel within Thailand overnight in some places and return to my condo there's no need to refile the TM 30 if I leave the country and come in through immigration and return to my long-term condo then I need to renew the TM 30 this is how it was explained to me I was told that if I'm just bouncing around within Thailand borders and I already have a team 30 with my long-term lease condo there is no need to renew it when I get back after staying in hotels
Do not give your passport or ask them to do or not do it TM30. Most off hotels do not do it TM30 ask them before you stay. But say: I need TM 30 you do it or not ? If they say no you can say ok no problem not so important.
Newfarang 57 I talking about 90 day report no question asked from IO i know hotels have to fill out TM30 automatically, im talking about when we get home iv never or the wife hasn't filled a 1 in to say we back home
You will see a wide range of answers on this as the actual answer is office specific. Some will insist on an updated TM30 if you’ve stayed in a hotel or hospital, some won’t if you’re returning to your usual residence even if you’ve been abroad. Others only want an updated one if you’ve travelled overseas and returned.
Ask your office for their policy or state the office you’re going to use and others may know it.
Legally, if you are returning to your previously recorded location within the check-in> check-out dates on the tm30 for that location, after any sort of travel, you do not have to file a new record.
For the sake of practibility its best to reregister at least once a year before your visa extension or where you may need to produce a copy to the IO.
Your house/condo should have null checkout date, making it an underlying permanent record, hotels fill in checkout dates creating temporary records which expire.
This can sometimes be yes, sometimes no. It depends what your immigration office wants. In Pattaya (Jomptien office) my lease agent told me that if you have a long stay address (ex. condo lease) - as long as you return to the same address, it's not needed. I'll be confirming this on my next visit to Jomptien immigration office.
Is this something new have been to thailand twice stayed at a friend's cond.both times never did tm30 but getting ready to go back will this be a problem
Pink card does not have passport number, it has Thai ID number.
Thai driving license if issued based on Yellow Book and Pink card does not have passport number. DL has Thai ID number from the Pink Card. Hotels will not submit their TM30 if you check in with one of the two cards.
Address (TM30) never changes unles you really move to another place.
Air travel within Thailand does not need passport if you have Pink Card.
Newfarang 57 DLs issued on the basis of Pink ID (that comes after Yellow Book has been obtained) do not have passport number. Mine has that Thai ID number from the Pink Card instead.
For over 60, the Pink Card is for lifetime, no renewals. That is used again when renewing Thai DL.
Bill Harden Been coming to thai 100 times since year 2000, rented until 2008 when I purchased my condo. It was travel, hotel hopping I had never ever even heard of TM30 until I joined here for Non O visa and extension in May 2025.
Sean Franjesh Probably. I had never had to do with Immigration until last year Non O visa and 1 year extension (neither 99% of travellers have to do anything with Immigration past their entry into Thai). I did not even know TM30 existed.
I’m back in the USA after three weeks well needed vacation in Thailand, I’ll be turning 63 in a couple of months and was waiting till I turn 65 to retire and move to Thailand but I think I’ll change my mind and retire this year and live a little while I still can!! What are my next steps in making this a reality? How does one go about getting a retirement visa? I should have an income of a little over $2,000.00 from my social security income and about the same from my pension once I turn 65 in two years I’ve also got the required amount saved up in the bank to qualify for this visa, what and where (I’m in the NYC area) do I have to go for this??
Peter Nelson You can search this group for answers to your questions about retirement visas. Tons of info throughout previous posts that you’ll find helpful. You can also find loads of YouTube videos discussing the details as well.
Yes, if it‘s one of the hotels that do the TM30, it‘ll show in the computer. Apparently some immigration offices say that for short trips and returning back to the same address as before does not require a new TM30. I do it anyway, online it‘s a 3 minutes job.
If you have a pink card check in with that instead of your passport. Guidance from Chaeng Wattana is if you're going back to your home there's no need to do a new TM30
Peter Nelson Yes by law they have to Peter,If your just here on your holidays I wouldn't worry about it,A TM30 is a certificate of residency issued at immigration but once you have done the first one you can do on line everytime you stay away from your home within Thailand, IO will be immigration officer.Hope that helped mate..
Not necessary here with Hua Hin Immigration. Just to add to this comment, I have been away touring in Thailand, in hospitals and to UK over the years and never had to bother.
Not really sure what you are asking, if you travel in Thailand and stay at a hotel the filed a tm30 then when you get back home I think you need to refile that you are back home? The tm 30 lets immigration know your location
