TLDR : Answer Summary
When returning to Thailand, even if you stay at the same address, you must file a new TM30 notification if you leave the country. This requirement is based on the Immigration Act, which mandates landlords to report a foreigner's stay. It is advisable to check with your local immigration office as rules may vary by location.
The TM30 notification and its underlying laws are about the obligation of a landlord (housemaster, possessor, or manager) to report the stay of a foreigner (non-Thai national) in his/her property...the government has started to enforce it...and added this as a requirement to the 90-day reporting and extension of visa.
Section 37 of the Immigration Act, B.E. 2522 (1979) also stipulates that a foreigner residing in Thailand should notify the police station if he/she visits another province for more than 24 hours from the time of arrival. This would mean that a short weekend trip from Bangkok to Phuket would cause more red tape, even when you have already done all the basic TM30 reporting.
Normally you have to file a new TM30 within 24 hours of your return but it does vary by immigration office so you need to check with the one relevant to where you live

No, you need to make a new address report if you spend 24 hours in any other place.
But all immigration offices have different rules about if you have to report your address again immediately, or if it can wait until you need to do something at immigration, so check what people in your local city groups say.

You have to update every time you leave and come back or stay in a hotel some other place in Thailand. Doesnt matter if you're in the same place.
