Do I need to cancel my retirement visa before crossing the border at Mae Sae on the expiration date?

Hello TVA folks again! US passport on an retirement visa that has a renewal date in Jan. Sorry to bother you all with a question regarding a border crossing at Mae Sae. My extension ends on the 12th of Jan. If I were to cross the border on the 12th and try to return with a 30 day entry on arrival, do I need to cancel my non-o before I do so at CM Immi? Or will it just be done automatically without needing to do so? I also have a mutliple-reentry permit. Thanks again for your help in these matters!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquires about crossing the border at Mae Sae on the expiration date of their retirement visa (NON-O) and whether cancellation is required prior to exiting Thailand. Comments suggest that leaving on the expiry date would not allow for a new entry stamp under a 30-day visa exemption unless returning the next day, as the current extension would only be valid until after the 12th.

Unless I'm wrong exiting AND coming back on the 12th would only get you stamped right back in for the 12th :O <- seeing as that's how long your extension is good for and you have a valid re-entry permit.

You'd have to stamp back in AFTER that date to get in on a 30 day visa exempt entry. That means stamping out on the 12th and stamping back into the country on the 13th.

So you have a yearly extension of stay and a re-entry permit that you got from the immigration office INSIDE of thailand which expires on the 12th of Jan right?
