Question about cancellation of extension.

I read many times that you have to cancel your extension of stay in combination with work permits or ed visa.

I have non o based on married to a thai and make yearly extension of stay. When I leave the country without re entry permit, do I also need to cancel the extension?

I know that I have to start the visa new, if I decide to come back later, I only want be sure that I don't have problems with a new visa, if I will return.

Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the procedures related to leaving Thailand without a re-entry permit while on a NON-O visa extension based on marriage to a Thai national. Commenters clarify that if you leave Thailand without a re-entry permit, you do not need to cancel your extension based on marriage, but you will need to reapply for a new extension if you choose to return.

You cancel the Extension of Stay when the reason you got this Extension of Stay changes. LIKE:

based on volunteer work and you stop being a volunteer

based on work and you get fired

based on study, and it is schools out forever

based on married and you get divorced

based on being over 50 years of age, no need to cancel as you will be over 50 years of age next year.

If you leave Thailand, as a married man no need to cancel.

There's really no reason to leave Thailand without buying a re-entry permit; but if you do leave Thailand without a re-entry permit, and you're on an extension of stay based on married, you must get a new extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai national.

something is not correct in your remarks. You say "but if you do leave Thailand without a re-entry permit, and you're on an extension of stay based on married, you must get a new extension of stay based on marriage to a Thai national" . . .this is wrong. He will have to get a NEW Non-Imm-O visa based on marriage to a Thai . . (before he hasn't gotten the visa, he cannot apply for the extension)

the re entry permit would be only valid until the date of my extension and I'm sure that I don't will return during this time. So if I will return in maybe 2 years, I nwill need a new non o from my home country and after the 3 month I can get a new extension. Or is my understanding wrong?
