Good day!
I need an answer to my concerns. I have a non-b visa (3-month visa) from my previous employer, but I don't have a working permit yet. Do I need to get a cancellation letter from my previous employer to cancel my non-b if I will apply to a new school?
I'm confused since some say that I need to cancel my 3-month non-b visa and then exit the country and go back as a tourist.
I need your insights about this. Thank you!
TLDR : Answer Summary
When transitioning from an employment-based NON-B visa to studying in Thailand, you do not need a cancellation letter from your previous employer to cancel your visa. Instead, you can simply exit Thailand, which will invalidate your current entry/stay stamp. Make sure to check if your current employer has applied for your work permit, as this may require additional steps. It's also important to note the terminology used, as the visa itself and the entry stamp are different; the visa cannot be canceled while the stamp will become invalid upon departure.
