Hi out there, anyone with any information regarding this: Non O (marriage visa expired 21st April), under amnesty as of today. Used to go to Mukdahan to renew yearly (I do not have the 400K in bank). Borders not open, Any idea on how this will unfold and what I should do to renew my Non O (money is the issue). Thank you for taking the time to reply...

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user’s Non-O (marriage) visa expired on April 21, and they are currently under amnesty due to border closures. The user is seeking options for renewing their visa, particularly since they do not meet the financial requirement of having 400,000 baht in the bank. Comments suggest that the user has limited options, such as applying for a 60-day family visit extension, which does not require proof of funds, or remaining under amnesty and following future instructions from immigration.

People seem to think they have "similar situations" but unless it's 100% exactly the same (as in you entered on a Non-O visa with a 90 day stamp and went right to amnesty) it is NOT the same.

Because the O/P entered on a non-O they go to Chaengwattana to get the 60 day visit thai family extension.

IF you entered on a 30 day visa exempt entry OR a 60 day tourist visa entry you would go to Muang Thong Thani to get the 60 day visit family extension.

It is controlled by WHAT visa/entry stamp you're getting the 60 day extension off of.

Did you already get a 60 day visit thai family extension? You MIGHT <- as in maybe be able to go to the immigration office with your thai wife and get that 60 day extension from amnesty. It does Not require any proof of funds.

Other than that you're on amnesty like everyone else and you wait it out and do what they tell amnesty holders to do when it ends

You aren't gonna "renew" anything.

With the borders closed and the consulates in nearby countries closed you aren't gonna go get a new Non-O anywhere any time soon.

When a visa expires you go buy a NEW one, OR you apply for an in country yearly extension by meeting the financial requirements at the immigration office.

The ONLY option you have is that 60 day visit thai family extension OR you go on amnesty and wait to see what they tell people on it to do.

I understand, my visa and the blue stamps are expired since 21 April. (I have done the 4 legs of renewal). What would be your advice
@Tod ********
at this time? Would doing any of those two options carry the same weight?

So your 90 day entry stamp from your Non-O visa expired in April 21st? <- meaning you last entered the country in JANUARY?
Tod *********
and you didn't see this covid-19 shit storm on the horizon as your 90 day stamp was running out and then go to get a new Non-O visa before they closed the borders in March?
Tod *********
sorry I meant no disrespect, I was only asking a question about why you'd have a stamp that ran out in April was all. :/

@Tod ********
no worries...I did not take offence. I understand you are trying to help and I really appreciate it.

Did you already get the 60 day visit thai family extension from the 90 day Non-O entry you came in on?

Do you mean that once this visa expired I can apply for an extension due to covid?

@Dany *******
, okay, your VISA has nothing to do with you being able to stay IN thailand, it's the 90 day entry stamp you got when you entered. SO when did your blue rectangular entry stamp expire?
