TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster inquired about the possibility of obtaining a 60-day tourist visa on arrival in Thailand and whether an online visa application is required. Comments clarified that there is no such thing as a 60-day tourist visa on arrival; UK passport holders receive a visa exemption stamp allowing a stay of up to 60 days upon entry. This exemption can be extended by an additional 30 days at a local immigration office. No prior application or paperwork is needed for arrival.
I'm on a UK passport, think my questions been answered though, thanks anyhow

Hello Andrew, you have a UK passport - so that means you need to do nothing before arriving in Thailand. At the airport they give you a stamp that says you can stay in TH for 60 days. (That stamp has been called a visa, or a visa exemption --- all that language is BS to me. The point is that you get to stay in TH 60 days. No forms to fill out, no money to pay.) Take care.
Andrew there is no need to apply for a visa as a UK passport holder, you will get stamped in on a visa exemption which is good for 60days so this will cover your trip duration. Prior to July this year it only used to be a 30day visa exempt stamp so all good for you 👍
you can apply for a 60 day visitors visa on the evisa system in the uk as that is still available, but since the visa exempt stamp changed from 30 days to 60 days mid this year then there in little benefit in getting the visitor visa as they are now both 60 days, visa exempt is free and no effort where as the visitor visa takes effort and money.

You didn't provide the only information that matters, which is your passport country. That determines what you can qualify for.
There is no such thing as a 60 day tourist visa on arrival. There is a tourist visa that you have to apply for before you travel from a Thai embassy. There is a visa on arrival that is applied for and paid for at the airport and only available to certain countries and is only for 15 days. There is visa exempt which is probably what you are asking about and it's not any visa at all. But it's only available if you are from certain countries, and you didn't provide that information.
Andrew you can get a 60 day visa exempt stamp when you enter thailand with a uk passport. This is not a visa but a visa exemption. This visa exemption can be extended by 30 days at the local immigration office when you are in thailand at a cost of 1900 baht.
