TLDR : Answer Summary
Australian passport holders currently receive a 30-day visa exemption stamp upon arrival at Thai airports. This is a change from the previous year when they could stay for 45 days due to a tourist promotion. The 30-day visa exemption can be extended for an additional 30 days while in Thailand. For longer stays, obtaining a 60-day tourist visa prior to arrival is recommended.

But easy to apply for a 60 day tourist visa, if you want to stay longer.

Go to the website of your nearest Thai Embassy for more information.

Airport immigration can give you a visa exemption entry for 30 days. That can be extended in Thailand for a further 30 days.

If you arrive without a visa and an Australian passport, you'll receive a 30 day visa exempt stamp.
