Is the Visa exemption on arrival still 60 days for British passport holders?
Answer summary
Yes, as of now, British passport holders can enter Thailand under the visa exemption rule for 60 days without a visa. There have been discussions about possible changes to this policy in the future, but currently, the 60-day exemption still applies. This is distinct from a visa on arrival, which is limited to certain nationalities and typically only offers a shorter stay.

Visa Exemption is still 60 days.

While it's been verified that it will return to 30 days, there is no indication on when it will be happening.

I arrived on the 24th of july please make double sure you fill in the TDAC or they will send you back to fill it in on a machine along with about 50 others . And believe me 80pc don't have a clue. The queue's to passport were very long. So be very patient. It take's awhile . Be warned. I missed my taxi. Good luck.

I'm sure you mean visa excempt stamp which is 60 days, for UK passport holders.

Visa on arrival is something else, currently for 30 countries and reducing to 4 counties after entry in the Gazette. The UK is not part of visa on arrival .

30 day limit never was applied. Stayed 60 days. Not sure Thailand can afford to implement it as tourist numbers are 20% down on last year
Jeffrey **********
Jeffrey **********
Neil Doody The return to a 30-day limit has not yet been implemented. And Thailand certainly can afford to make the change since 90% or more of tourists stay less than two weeks. Few people who are staying for close to 60 days are really tourists, and if they are they can get a relatively inexpensive tourist visa.

Yes you’ll still get 60 days visa exemption. All these people going on about the difference between visa on arrival and visa exemption know what you mean btw. They’re just trying to be clever. I once made a post on here about my 12 month retirement visa which is in fact called a 12 visa extension based on retirement. The shitty replies about the wording I got were extraordinary. Toxic idiots IMO.

Mick Aynsley know what you mean about the people who want to write stupid comments because it brightens up their sad lives, I recently posted to let people know I got a visa exempt with just a 30 day stamp on my last trip, I even posted a photo of the stamp but it was met by insults and people calling me a liar.

These people don’t want help so why can’t they be banned from the site,

Brian Richard Taylor just keep an eye on the embassy or immigration we’d sites. It is due to change but we should get 15 days notice and ig you have been issued with a 60 day stamp even if it changes while your in country the 60 day stamp will be valid.
Paul ********************
Paul ********************
Mick Aynsley but no it's technically an important distinction as at the airport there is a big sign which say VOA this way... You wanna stand in that queue to be told you are in the wrong queue

Clearly the OP doesn't know the difference

Janice Bellhouse You say above that you have a UK passport but visa exempt has been 60 days for over 2 years so you did not get 30 days anytime last year

Janice Bellhouse then you don't need anything atm, if it reduces before you travel then you will need a 60 day tourist visa, any announcement will give you plenty of time to apply to the Thai embassy in London who are very quick.

@Roy ********
How long before ones travel date? You can do it at the airport after arrival while on your way to the immigration booths. The correct question to ask is how soon can I do my TDAC prior to arrival. The answer to that question is, as Tomas has written, 72 hours. i.e. one cannot submit a TDAC more than 72 hours prior to scheduled arrival.
