Do I have to cancel my non-B visa in the province it was issued, and can someone else do it for me?

Hey guys, just wanted to check a couple of things. Does a non-B visa have to be cancelled in the same province as it was issued (in my case BKK), and if so, can someone else cancel it on your behalf?

Also, anyone else had problems obtaining a 60 day covid visa after an overstay? Thanks all.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the cancellation of a non-B visa in Thailand, particularly whether it must be canceled in the same province where it was issued (Bangkok in this case) and if someone can do it on behalf of the visa holder. It is clarified that the visa must be canceled at the issuing immigration office and cannot be canceled by someone else. Additionally, individuals are discussing issues related to obtaining a 60-day COVID visa extension after an overstay, emphasizing the need to pay fines for overstaying and providing necessary documentation for the extension.

Thank you all for your help. Anyone know where I can find a letter from the Australian embassy stating they're refusing to issue letter stating I can't return? Couldn't find anything on the website and I don't know if they'll get back to me in time

they are good about answering and the immigration office knows that the aussie consulate doesn't issue letters, you shouldn't have any problem at all apply for a covid extension after you cancel your current extension

follow Ellie's advice. IF you went to the cham Churi Square immigration office to get that extension you go BACK there (with documents from your employer to cancel both the extension and the work permit)

THEN you would slog on over to Chaengwattana immigration office and apply for a 60 day covid extension (assuming you're going to be able to pull this off before the 29th when the current covid extensions run out AND taking into effect there are holidays on the 26th and 28th this month)

What do you mean "Also, anyone else had problems obtaining a 60 day covid visa after an overstay?" ? is it someone else's topic since your stamp is not on overstay (yet).

LOOK in your passport. I'm guessing it says "extension of stay". If it says "extension of stay", you can only cancel it at the immigration office where it was issued.

> if so, can someone else cancel it on your behalf?

I'll say no, you can not.

>Also, anyone else had problems obtaining a 60 day covid visa after an overstay.

You are *NOT* getting a visa, you would be getting an 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19. IF you're on overstay NOW, you will have to pay the overstay fine, and then you can apply for the 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19. The fine is 500THB a day, maximum is 20K THB. If you are past 90 days, you will be deported and blacklisted for a year.

Different immigration offices have different requirements, but all require the following:

1. Your passport and:

a. a copy of your data ("picture") page

b. a copy of your most recent visa (if you have one)

c. a copy of your most recent stamp

d. a copy of your departure card

2. A TM30, filed in the immigration office.

3. The forms (each immigration office may have different forms, and ant to use their special forms)

4. A letter from your embassy saying you can not return, OR a print out from your embassy website saying they don’t issue the letters, OR a print out of a letter from the embassy saying they don't issue those letters.

5. 2x passport pictures

6. 1,900 THB.

Different immigration offices have different policies. *SOME* may require:

- The ID card of the property owner where you are staying

- Copies of *ALL* stamped pages in your passport

thanks mate, useful info but bad news. Gonna have to go to Bangkok from Tao right in the middle of the worst part of the pandemic. Can I ask if this would be the one stop place in chamchuree (sp?) Square? And you get 7 days extension of stay as soon as the non b is cancelled right?

I think it would have been, I definitely had to go there before. Hope this makes it clearer

If your employer is one of BOI/IEAT companies, you MIGHT get lenient 0-21 days upon your cancellation, which means you may get 0-21 days for free until the new admitted-until-date after cancellation. Before that period is up, go to another immigration office and apply for a Covid extension.

thank you very much for your help, unfortunately my former employer decided to fuck me over by not issuing the cancellation letter until 3 days after my employment was terminated so I was already on overstay by the time I got the letter.

You also need to cancel your work permit officially (supposed to be) at Chumchuri as well to cancel your extension.

, it seems to have been issued at OSOS at Chumchuri. You need to go there to check and cancel your extension. Then need to go to Chaengwattana or whatever immigration office to apply for Covid extension.

Is the business registered with the BOI? Would you feel comfortable posting a picture of your one year extension of stay based on employment?
