Hi everyone.

Is anyone aware of the process of cancelling a Non-B Working Visa to then go onto a Tourist Visa?

As far as I am aware, if you cancel the Non-B Visa, you would then go onto a Tourist Visa and at the moment, due to Covid, you would not be required to leave the country. So, you would be required to cancel visa and then pay the fee (1,900 baht) to go onto a Tourist Visa for 90 days? Is this correct?

If anybody has any knowledge i would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks so much.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The process for cancelling a Non-B Working Visa to apply for a Tourist Visa in Thailand is not straightforward. Firstly, it is important to clarify that one cannot obtain a Tourist Visa while remaining in Thailand; instead, if cancelling a Non-B Visa, one can apply for a 60-day extension of stay based on Covid-related circumstances. This involves submitting required documents, including a fee of 1,900 baht. Various immigration offices may have different requirements, including the need for additional documentation from employers or property owners.

If you want an 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19, you'll need the following:

Different immigration offices have different requirements, but all require the following:

1. Your passport and:

a. a copy of your data ("picture") page

b. a copy of your most recent visa (if you have one)

c. a copy of your most recent stamp

d. a copy of your TM.6 departure card

2. [MAY BE ASKED AT BANGKOK IMMIGRATION] A TM30, filed in the immigration office.

3. The forms (each immigration office may have different forms, and want to use their special forms). For Bangkok Immigration, they are found in the Files section of this group. For other immigration offices, please use their own forms.

4. [NOT ASKED AT BANGKOK IMMIGRATION] A letter from your embassy saying you can not return, OR a print out from your embassy website saying they don’t issue the letters, OR a print out of a letter from the embassy saying they don't issue those letters.

5. 2x passport pictures

6. 1,900 THB.

Different immigration offices have different policies. *SOME* may require:

- The ID card of the property owner where you are staying

- Copies of *ALL* stamped pages in your passport

You got your wires crossed a bit. You can't get a tourist visa inside thailand, period end of story.

What you are talking about is cancelling your Non-B EXTENSION at the immigration office with documents from your employer and then you would immediately apply for a 60 day covid extension for 1900baht. <- that's the only thing you could do and it's not 90 days it's 60 days.
