I want to get a COVID extension from a non-b. My non-b ends the 21st of June and was extended in Nakhon Pathom but I am living in Bangkok right now. I am from the US so I don’t know if the extension would be approved or not easily. Also do I need to go in person to do it or can I have someone else go for me to do it. Anyone have recent experience with this process? I’m just worried that it won’t be accepted and will have to leave the country .

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking guidance on obtaining a COVID-19 extension for their non-B visa, which is set to expire on June 21. They previously extended their visa in Nakhon Pathom but are currently living in Bangkok. Concerns are raised about the ease of extending the visa and whether they need to appear in person or can have someone act on their behalf. Comments indicate that the process involves canceling the current work permit and reapplying in Bangkok, with in-person attendance required. The approval is not guaranteed and may depend on the discretion of the immigration officer.

To be able to apply for a new extension, you have to do it with 2 steps:

1. cancel your work permit and extension at the Nakhon Pathom offices.

2. apply for a new extension at Bangkok Office (in your case, Chaengwattana) with a TM30 receipt in Bangkok.

You have to be at the immigration office physically when you apply for your extension.

Be aware, that a Covid extension is not the promised thing like a 30 days tourism extension for tourists. You sure can try to apply for it, but if your application is approved or not totally depends on the discretion of the officer you are dealing with on the application day. Better to have Plan B.
