I am a non B visa holder and it expires on the 30th of this month(April). I have not started the process of applying for a new/Extension of my Non B. My next employer told me I should wait until 30 April and cancel my current visa, apply for 30 day extension then when school reopens they will again apply for my Non B that will be sponsored by their school because the current one was sponsored by my previous school. Please advise, does that sound right? Has anyone ever done it before(Cancelled their Non B). Please help

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user holding a Non-B visa in Thailand is seeking advice on whether to cancel their visa and apply for a 30-day extension before starting with a new school. Community responses clarify that a 30-day extension is not available; instead, they suggest considering a 60-day Covid extension or other options. It's recommended that the user consults their new employer about immigration office policies for transitioning from a COVID extension to a new Non-B visa.
As I wrote in reply to your other post, make sure your new employer checks with the immigration office they plan to use for your new non-B extension and find out if you can get that extension if you're on a covid extension.
Some immigration offices may not allow you to get a new non-B extension from a Covid extension.
You are changing schools, it would be advised to cancel your work permit and visa and move to a 60-day Covid extension. Things take time to do the process again as you would need a new temporary teacher's license.
I agree with LLoyd, there is no "30 day extension" you can get from a Non-B extension once you cancel it. You'd get a 7 day extension denied stamp that gives you a week to get out of thailand OR you might (as in if your office issues them to Non-Imm visa/extension holders) be able to get a 60 day covid extension.
