Hi everyone! I have a question for DTV visa holders in Thailand. 😊

Are we required to do 90-day reporting, or is it not necessary as long as we leave and re-enter Thailand within the 180-day permitted stay?

For those holding a DTV visa, do you actually report every 90 days, or do you just do a border run every 180 days?

I’d really appreciate hearing about your actual experiences. Thank you!
Answer summary
DTV visa holders in Thailand are required to do 90-day reporting if they stay for 90 or more consecutive days. While some individuals manage to do border runs every 180 days, it is mandatory to report if exceeding the 90-day limit, with some experiences suggesting that the process can be straightforward. Additionally, failure to report can result in fines.

If you fly out before 90 days= no need to report

If you stay for 90 days or more = you have to do the 90 days report

For DTV you still have ninety day reporting if you stay in Thailand over ninety days without leaving. Rule is same as other long visas, you report address every ninety days of continuous stay. If you leave and re enter within the one hundred eighty day permission, the clock resets and you report again after ninety days from new entry. In real life many DTV holders do a short trip before ninety days so they avoid reporting, others stay longer and do report at immigration or online. If you plan to stay full one hundred eighty days, you will need to do one ninety day report in the middle. Border run every one hundred eighty days gives new stay, but does not remove ninety day duty while you are inside. You could consider reading a book or two before your trip. I’d recommend Unlock Thailand by Isla Rey on Amazon, it includes all the info and insights you need. You should check it out. A very good companion .

, the first 90-day report must be done in person, so unless you do a 6-month extension DTV holders will always do their reports in person.

If you stay 90 days or longer: you have to report.

Or what is the problem with "90 days" reporting?

Those failing to do the report are subject to 2,000 Baht fine payable at the Immigration office, not at departure.

90 day report was very easy in Chiang Mai. You can walk-thru or drive-thru :) if you have prepped the docs beforehand, it takes only 5 mins or so.

Anonymous participant go to the immigration office where your TM30 is registered

Anonymous participant You'll need to go to the nearest immigration office. It's in-person after each entry so it's unlikely you'll be able to do that online except if you're extending your stay with immigration.
