Jakarta processing times?

Hi I guess I just wanted to update/ask about Jakarta's processing times right now as to what everyone is experiencing?

I submitted what I thought was a very straightforward DTV Soft Power application on the 30th. Then promptly responded to no less than 4 additional doc requests some of which did not involve the activity in question. Since the 6th response day it's been bounced from awaiting doc check to awaiting approval for ten days to awaiting doc check as of yesterday. Pretty exhausted at this point - Whats it like for others or am I just being a drama queen?? Hope everyone is well and thanks.

you should probably have applied using the Workation option as that's the only one that allows you to legally work remotely from Thailand so all your invoices etc are probably coming under scrutiny. The bounce back to awaiting doc check could mean you have further questions coming your way

The thing is they can see incoming payments into my account. I own a UK registered shop ( Mên-an-Tol Designs) that my family sells items to UK shops and fairs wholesale for me so there are several invoices coming in to my main and second account though the sales, though were not done by myself. It's possible they'll ask more, which is ok as i was originally going for Nomad but did not believe I was meeting the income threshold. It's tough because I can't exactly or do not want to lie - I also conducted freelance work upon leaving the country last year for a US firm and that's in that account too, payment arriving whilst within Thailand. They can see incoming payments into my account. The question seemed to be specifically under that

"2. source of income" which they asked for as they can clearly see businesses paid into my account. It is a conundrum but I do not think I broke any rules to my understanding as I do not solicit or seek work for my company outside of the UK.

There is no minimum income threshold, you would be fine via Workcation. You have been upfront with your income so there is no prob there.

Embassies ask SP applicants to provide work info to show how they support themselves and issue DTVS fully aware the applicant works remotely.

if all the work is carried out on your behalf in the UK and you don't work remotely yourself then it's not an issue. As

says I'm aware that some consulates will accept remote work as a means of how folk can support themselves but it's at best a grey area.

Each time you resubmit docs the approval timeline is reset. Approvals seem to take 10-20 business days. Jakarta not as quick as it used to be.Did you submit a 9mth course?

Thanks Andi. I asked my gym whether I should but they said don't, do 6Mo. Which is what My other Khao Lak gym does.

I went on the gym recommendation though I was happy to get a year if needed.

On extra document request I sent

- Full Muay Thai history invluding fights/Muay Boran cert and years of Thai gym training

-Full scan of passport

- Proof of stay for 6mnth

- Documents linking UK income to invoices based in England.

It was 16 pages and almost above the upload limit. Thanks for the grounded time frame. It's been 11 days since so I extended my hotel stay on Fri anyway.

there were more frequent posts since February of 6 month courses being given the METV, but others also successfully got the DTV. Last week there was a post from a gym that the rules may be changing to minimum 9 months. A cooking school also stopped offering 6 months and now has 9 months minimum. There are also reports of being asked for work documents for soft power. Why some get it and others not for 6 month courses is unknown since it's not known exactly what they applied with. I guess it's maybe if future plans after course competition is given or proof of remote work for means of financial support.

Anonymous participant 490 Yeah it's frustrating becuse I was saying to the gym upfront and I believe we are talking about the same gym that I was more than happy to do 9 month 🤦🏼‍♀️ And still am. If I do not get a good result here hopefully I'd be able to correct and update after becuse It's all training I'd put to use with fighting anyway. I'm in contact with the gym about this update and they are good to talk with. I also realised today Eid is coming up so it's not great on timelines over here lol.

ok, seems a good application but 9mths is now widely accepted as the minimum. Embassies are issuing a METV instead of the DTV if they think the course term is insufficient. Hopefully you will be ok and get the DTV soon.
