Hi I have a uk passport and I'm flying to Thailand in February and plan to stay for just under 2 months.

I have a couple of questions.

Will I get granted a visa at arrival?

Would I be able to fly to Vietnam and come straight back in to Thailand within those 60 days or do I need to apply for a specific multiple entry visa?

Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
As a UK passport holder, you can enter Thailand without a visa under the visa exemption policy for up to 60 days. For your stay of just under 2 months, you will not receive a visa on arrival but will get an entry stamp for the duration permitted. If you plan to visit Vietnam during your stay, it is possible to return to Thailand after that trip, provided you follow the rules. A multiple-entry visa or a re-entry permit is not required for a simple trip to Vietnam and back, but it's essential to ensure there are no overlaps with your stay limitations.
Peculiar ******
As a UK passport holder, you're eligible for a visa exemption in Thailand, which allows you to stay for up to 45 days without a visa.ยน However, since you plan to stay for almost 2 months, you'll need to apply for a visa extension or a tourist visa that covers your entire stay.

Regarding your second question, if you plan to visit Vietnam and return to Thailand within the 60-day period, you'll need to check the visa requirements for Vietnam. As a UK passport holder, you're eligible for a visa exemption in Vietnam for up to 45 days.ยฒ However, if you plan to re-enter Thailand, you may need to apply for a multiple-entry visa or a re-entry permit, depending on your specific situation.

To be on the safe side, I recommend checking with the Thai Embassy or Consulate in the UK for the most up-to-date information on visa requirements and regulations. You should also consider reading a book or two before your travel.. I'd recommend a book "Thailand Unveiled 2024-2025" by James Anderson on Amazon..it has all the info and recommendations you need..you should check it out ๐Ÿ˜€

No.. As British passports dont get a Visa on arrival, they get a 60 day visa waiver.. Understand the difference as it will save you hours standing in a queue at BKK Airport called "Visa on Arrival" to be told you are in the wrong queue ๐Ÿ‘

ITS NOT A VISA ON ARRIVAL !

It's a visa exemption entry for 60 days..

VISA EXCEMPTION means you are exempt from needing a visa and get an entry stamp in your passport indicating your visa exemption exit date

you will get a 60 day visa stamp. You can travel to Vietnam but when you decide to return to Thailand then the 60 days will reset. If you need an extension then immigration can extend by 30 days

YES..

Every time you enter Thailand you get another 60 days VISA EXEMPTION entry..

If you plan to stay longer than 45 days in Vietnam on a British passport then you need to apply for a visa BEFORE you travel.

British passport holders are allowed 45 days entry to Vietnam without a visa before they travel.

I literally was going to be in Bangkok for just a couple of days on arrival then take a 10 day trip to Vietnam after which return to Thailand for about a month.

You don't get a visa on arrival. You're exempted. You can go to Vietnam and back without issues.

UK citizens do not need a visa for entry .

Visa free entry for usually 60 days.

Same as US citizens ๐Ÿค˜
