TLDR : Answer Summary
Travelers from the UK can receive a visa exempt entry stamp for 45 days upon arrival in Thailand. This stamp replaces the previous 30-day visa on arrival and is applicable for tourists without pre-arranged visas. However, if planning to convert to an elite visa, it's important to note that you will still need to adhere to standard reporting requirements and that elite visa representatives are currently not available at the airport due to COVID-19 restrictions.

I'm shutting this down.

1. The length of the quarantine time is outside the scope of this group. The quarantine time is almost always listed on the local Thai consulate website. Google

Thai Consulate [country name here]

And you can find the specific requirements.

2. The "Enter Phuket without quarantine" is a *PLAN* that assumes that a certain percentage of the population is vaccinated. It *MAY* not happen, and never make plans based on what may or may not happen in the future.

3. Entering on an elite visa vs. a visa exempt is beyond the scope of this group. The elite visa people will *NOT* meet you at the airport because of COVID-19. You will still have to do a 90 day report with the elite visa.

I think the OP has the answer. Good luck!

The visa exempt entry stamp, which you receive upon arrival, is now 45 days, not 30 now, which allows for quarantine.

You are slightly confused with your terminology, :O

There is no such thing as a 30 day visa on arrival. :/

People from the UK (and 50 other countries) who show up here without having bought a visa from a thai consulate before they came here get stamped in for free on what's called a visa exempt entry stamp

That's good so if I enter via Phuket from July and the no quarantine sandbox proposal is introduced I will get a 45 visa exempt entry (unless it is amended in the meantime).

Graham Seal. That's if the July 1 proposal goes ahead, which is dependent on 70% of the local community being vaccinated. In view of the latest spike in numbers I wouldn't be booking any flights at this stage!

So you don't need to arrange any visa stuff at all to travel there now? Can just turn up like good old times and they will give you 45 days

@Robert *****
so if your question was asking strictly about needing a visa to get in, the answer is no you do not. BUT you do need to meet all the entry requirements to request permission to enter and get the COE that lets you in :P

Cheers Tod appreciate the help. UK is under the exemption program so should get the COE no problem. I'm happy to do the 10 day quarantine so that's not an issue for me either. I best get booking some flights haha

@Robert *****
, you need to meet the ENTRY REQUIREMENTS to get into the country (100K US in covid insurance, a Certificate of Entry, proof of vaccination (if you have it), your booked stay in an approved quarantine facility etc) BUT you can come without buying a visa from the thai consulate

AND now because of of the mandatory quarantine the visa exempt entry stamps are for 45 days not 30 :)

@Tod ********
Is it still 45 days if the country you arrive from is now 10 days quarantine?
Tod *********
@Graham *****
the change from 30 to 45 days is in effect from 22 December 2020 until 30 September 2021 :P

So far no word changing it

@Graham *****
they passed the rule that increased the visa exempt entry from 30 to 45 days for a specific period of time.

It doesn't change no matter how many days you quarantine..

@Graham *****
The length doesn't change.
