Hi everyone! Hope you can help me out with this question... my friend is currently on a marriage visa which expires in a few days. She's is still married and was wondering if it's possible to obtain a 30-day extension of stay at an immigration office without leaving the country, before changing to a non b Visa Thanks in advance for your help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired if her friend could obtain a 30-day extension of stay on a marriage visa expiring soon, without leaving Thailand, before transitioning to a Non-B visa. Community comments clarified that extensions related to marriage are more complex and typically require departing the country. If her friend holds a Non-Immigrant O visa, she might need to consider a border run instead, as extending a stay under Non-Immigrant visas is not usually permissible.

If she has the 1 year Multiple Entry Non Immigrant O visa she can use this till the valid until date on the visa and just make a border run. There is no 30 day Extension of Stay on Non Immigrant Visa's. If she is on the Extension of Stay based on marriage, she had to cancel this Extension of Stay on the day of divorce and or leave the country or apply for a new Extension of Stay and if not approved get 7 days to leave the country. If she just stayed till the permitted up to date of this Extension of Stay after her divorce she is in overstay.

and it would help to know the nationality of your friend. Example if Israeli can not go Malaysia, etc.

Without a husband to sign documents and join her to Immigration there is no possibility to get an Extension of Stay, other than Extension not approved and 7 days to leave the country. Best option is to leave and apply for a Tourist Visa to bridge the time to get the documents to apply for the Non Immigrant B visa and her work permit.

@Robert ******
thanks for replying! She's got the one from the second picture.

I just edited my question as I made a mistake. She's still legally married but separated and there is no chance to contact her ex husband to get any documents signed. She will get a non B afterwards.

First thing come in mind what do you mean with the Marriage visa? Is this a visa she got from a Thai consulate, picture one or is this an Extension of Stay from Immigration as in picture 2

usually she had to leave already when the marriage ended - if she has an extension - she might get 7 days -
