Hello

I need some advice please about getting a new non B visa if you change schools/place of employment.

I currently have a non b visa. If I go to work at a different school would I need to exit the country and return to Thailand on a tourist visa to begin the process?

With the corona issue I want to avoid leaving the country and wondered if my non b visa can be transferred while I stay in Thailand .

I keep getting given different information.

I hope this makes sense

Thankyou

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on transferring their Non-B visa while changing schools in Thailand. They are concerned about the possibility of needing to leave the country and re-enter on a tourist visa versus being able to complete the transfer while remaining in Thailand.

Hi again.

Can I exit and come back on a tourist visa or do I need to prepare and come back in with a non b visa?

With borders now closed, would the best advice be for me to obtain paperwork from old employer and hope this can be processed at immigration without leaving the country.

Would I have to start be non b application from the very beginning?

A simple transfer would be so much easier :(

I'm currently working here in BKK with an extention of stay.

Because there is a month gap between my old and new employer I've been advised I need to exit the country and come back as I can't do a transfer.

I'm not sure what border or anything yet.

I just needed to know if I can leave and come back on a tourist visa (and my new employer will change it to a non b)

and what thai consulate were you going to BUY this tourist visa at?

I believe it is a one year extension of stay.

I'm British and have been in Thailand for a year, so my visa is due to expire end of April.

My old Contract ends 31 March, my new one starts 3 May. One month gap. I've been told you can't transfer if this is the case?

Agree with Benjamin, that's how it used to work at least some time ago... If both employers a willing to coordinate the transfer, you don't need to go out

I'm in exactly the same situation. I'm going to talk to my current employer and hope they can coordinate with my new one. There is a month between end and start dates. If this isn't possible, what are the alternatives please good sir? Is it even possible without a visa run?
