Hello.. Iโ€™d like to ask some questions about converting Visa types.

Iโ€™m currently working here with Non-B visa right now and it will be expired in April next year. I have a plan to go to another country around mid of next year. So, can I convert my non-b visa to tourist visa (or any other possible visa) while staying here between April and another 2-3 more months without needing to return to home country? If then, may I know the process and requirements? Appreciate any help you can advise. Thanks in advance ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the possibility of converting their Non-B visa to a tourist visa while remaining in Thailand after the Non-B visa expires. A comment indicates that without valid reasons (like marriage to a Thai or a child), it is not possible to convert the visa within Thailand; the user must leave the country by the visa expiration or work permit cancellation.

Assuming you do not have another valid reason to stay in Thailand (i.e. marriage to a Thai national, raising half-Thai child, etc), you can not get a tourist visa inside Thailand. You have until 11:59PM the day your work permit is cancelled/expires to leave Thailand. If you apply for an extension of stay, it would be rejected, and you would have 7 days to leave Thailand.

@Benjamin *****
does it mean I would need to return to home country after non-b expired, then apply for tourist visa again?

You will have to apply for a tourist visa, OR if the borders are reopen in April, bounce in and out
