Hello expats, im currently holding a 3 month extension on a non ED visa. I got a job and they will be providing work permit and non b visa, but im not sure if the non ED can be changed into non b without leaving thailand, or what the optimal process would be? Fly outside and get the non b? fly outside, get a tourist visa, come back and get the non b?

Please advice

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on how to transition from a Non-ED visa with a 3-month extension to a Non-B visa, which is necessary for their new job. Responses suggest that it is typically required to cancel the current extension and leave Thailand to apply for the Non-B visa at a Thai consulate, presenting necessary employment documentation. Some comments emphasize the importance of communicating with the employer and educational institution to ensure the process is managed correctly.

The letter from school with the last date that you study is only to cancel your extension of stay at immigration. As long as you cancel this Extension of Stay at your local Immigration Office and you leave Thailand before the new last day mentioned it is no problem.

I would say, your next step is to go to school and keep on studying what ever your study. Wait till your employer got all the documents ready to apply for the Non Immigrant B visa, then ask your school a letter that you stop your study one or two weeks later, visit with that letter the immigration office, cancel your Extension of Stay in advance and leave on the last day to apply for a new visa. Come back into Thailand with this new non immigrant b visa, collect your work permit and go to work

What does your employer say? Did you ask them? If you're a teacher, please (PLEASE) don't tell me you're working for an agent.

Is your job as a Teacher? Or business?

most seen procedure is, you cancel the Extension of Stay based on study with documents of your school, leave the country and visit a Thia Consulate with document of your employer to apply for the Non Immigrant B visa
