Can an Education extension of stay be converted to a Non-B extension for teaching in Thailand without leaving the country?

Can I convert an Education extension of stay into a non b extension of stay for the purpose of teaching in Thailand without going out of the country. I have just employed a teacher who has finished her studies (BA) in Thailand. She has an extension of stay based on education, I want to get her a work permit and extend the visa based on work. Not sure if she has to go out of the country or not? I want to do it at Samutprakan immigration if anyone has any experience of doing this there?
