Planning to do my 1st extension of stay based on retirement early October.

I read that I may get an under-consideration stamp for 30d, and need to return early Nov for the final extension.

Now my question:

I need to go to Singapore for 3 days Mid Oct for some medical, which is during the under-consideration period. I will return to Thailand before the 30d under-consideration period expires. I will also get a single re-entry permit for this trip.

Can anyone advise if this is possible or they don’t allow travel during the consideration period.

There's no under consideration period for an extension based on retirement, the extension normally gets issued the day you apply but may be the following day in a few places. Be aware though that some immigration offices now want to visit you at home a week or two after you get the extension, but you can just ask about that at the time and explain your travel plans

That is for marriage based Non O visa and extensions. Altough I am marriedl (legally, in Bangkok) to my Thai wife (25 years) I went for an independent Non O. No mention of home visits.

A foreigner, before me in the queue (Bangkok, Samut Prakan Immigration office), had a slew of (printed) pictures of their home, the couple pictured together.

sure. It depends on the office. I've had a home visit the last 3 years although I've been on retirement extensions for 10. It's not the same as a marriage extension with an under consideration period, they're just checking you live where you say you live really

@John Stanners Was it you , when I said Wang Nam Yen where my wife's house is. If I remember correctly, you said you were not far from Wang Nam Yen.

Between Wang Nam Yen to Wang Sombun (15km) , me rarely there,I saw guys on motorbikes, their baloon vests were with print "Immigration" on the back.

They do the checks, even in the sticks. There, has to be the Sa Kaew Immigration office doing that.
