Hello all ! I have got my first covid visa extension in Pattaya office, and it will expire in mid June.

I am currently in Bangkok. I am planning to apply for the second covid extension soon, do I have to go back to the Pattaya office to apply again ? Or can I choose to apply in Bangkok office this time ?

Any advice will be much appreciated, thank you !

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired whether they can apply for their second COVID visa extension in Bangkok after receiving their first extension in Pattaya. Community responses suggest that it is possible to apply in Bangkok, provided that the applicant can demonstrate proof of residence in Bangkok with a TM30 form. However, there are reports of individuals being sent back to the original office for extensions based on where their initial application was processed, so caution is advised. Users recommend applying at IT Square Laksi Plaza in Bangkok, as it is an appropriate location for this procedure.

Thankfully I am still two weeks away from my visa expiration. I think I will give it a shot in Laksi anyway, if they send me back I still can go back to Jomtien office in time.

There have been a couple of reports that I know of where BKK (Laksi Square) have been sending people back to where they got the original COVID extension ( Phuket in both cases) so wouldn't leave it till the last day.

I went and talked to them about that exact problem out at Laksi, and they said as long as a person had a TM30 filed for an address in Bangkok to show they are actually staying here they would allow people to apply.

BUT I do remember the post where even with a TM30, the applicant was denied here and couldn't apply

Then in Bangkok you go to the immigration office at IT Square Laksi Plaza for your covid extension NOT the main immigration office at the government complex

You GO here

I was originally on a 30-day visa exemption, then 60-day covid extension done in Pattaya office. It is expiring in two weeks and I'm currently in bkk. I was told by fellow backpackers that if I had my first covid extension done in Pattaya, then I must apply the second extension in Pattaya.

careful believing "fellow backpackers" as they are NOT known to be a solid source of visa/extension advice ๐Ÿ˜‰

, Your fellow friend is confusing the new application of Covid extension with an under-consideration stamp of the 2-steps-covid-extension procedure. When you get an under-consideration stamp, it is the first part of a Covid extension application. You HAVE TO go back to the same IO to get the under-consideration stamp closed and receive the rest of the extension. But once you complete the Covid extension procedure and get the full 60days, you can go to your local immigration office at the time for a bran-new extension application.

What Tod means is what Visa did you originally enter with or were you Visa Exempt?

as long as if you're asked for proof that you stay in the area where you're applying for the covid extension (as in show a TM30 from the hotel etc) you shouldn't have a problem applying here in Bangkok.

keep in mind there are two different offices in bangkok and which one you use for your extension depends on the entry stamp you came in on.
