TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion clarifies that there has never been a 60-day visa on arrival in Thailand. Instead, there exists a 60-day visa exemption for nationals of qualifying countries, allowing entry without a visa. The comments confirm that the visa exemption remains unchanged, despite previous discussions about potentially reducing the exemption period to 30 days.
ok please bare with me last December I arrived on the 8th and I was stamped for 60 days then added 30 days extension, so when I arrive this December it will be the same as nothing has changed? Up to now
As it stands nothing has changed. What happens before December is another thing. Being abit premature as I’m sure you are aware things change a lot in Thailand
There has never been 60 day visa on arrival. Visa on arrival is where you apply for and pay for a visa at the airport, and only available to a few nations.
There is currently 60 day visa exempt, which is not any visa at all, it means you are "exempt" from needing a visa. This is and remains 60 days if you are from a qualifying nation. There is a government proposal to change it back to 30 days, but it hasn't been mentioned in weeks.
