Hi! I am looking at the new visa free for 60 days countries as of 15th of July and I am kinda confused. For example when I am looking at the Thai E-visa official website and I insert all of required information I receive a message that states: You can travel to Thailand without a visa for no longer than 60 days.

However, Bulgaria, Romania and few other countries are also in the section visa on arrival, so I am really getting confused. Does anyone have an idea or should I contact the embassy. Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
As of July 2024, travelers from Bulgaria and Romania can visit Thailand without a visa for up to 60 days. They are also listed under the Visa on Arrival (VOA) program, which allows for a 15-day stay. Travelers can choose between the 60-day visa exempt entry, which is free, or opt for the VOA. If entering under the visa exemption, an extension of 30 days can be applied for, totaling a potential stay of 90 days.

Yes, they are in both schemes under 2 different laws so you choose between 15 days VOA and pay or get 60 days Visa Exempt for nothing, your choice

It's simple it says what it does you arrive in Thailand get 60 days on arrival then if you want can extend for d further 39 days so in total you get 90 days that's it simple

The extension is 30 days, and cost 1900 Baht at the Immigration office.

There are a few countries that were previously able to get the 15 day Visa on Arrival, but are now eligible for the new 60 day visa exempt. Those countries were not removed from the visa on arrival program, they were just also added to visa exempt. Technically if you are from one of those countries you could request visa on arrival instead of visa exempt, but that wouldn't make any sense. If your country is on the new visa exempt list, you are eligible for the 60 day visa exempt stamp.

Hi, thanks for the clarification. Just wondering since its kinda confusing my country being on the visa exempt list and also on the 15 days VOA list.
