Hi, I need advice.

I have a retirement visa based on NON O. Expires March 29, 2021. For personal reasons, I can unfortunately go to Thailand after May 2021. I will be requesting another NON O, single entry.

Question: 1. If I get a NON O (1year), can it be extended after 90 days? and for how long? maximum 90 days and then extend again?

2. Can I change the NON O to a Retirement visa after 90 days, or does 1 year have to be completed first?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice regarding the extension of a NON-O visa and the possibility of converting it to a retirement visa. Key points include that a NON-O visa can be extended after 90 days if the user meets financial requirements, and that there is no 90-day extension for retirement visas; the user must qualify for a yearly extension instead. Additionally, users mention that some embassies may not issue NON-O retirement visas, implying the need for country-specific information.

Which country are you from? Many embassies do not issue Non-O retirement visas.

I thought it was only the Multi-Entry Non-O that many countries stopped issuing.. (which wouldn't be much use now anyway, unless you're happy to re-quarantine every time you leave/return). You would still be able to extend a single entry non-O for one year provided you meet the requirements, and assuming your country does still issues it of course... Happy to be corrected if my info is out of date....

Steve Garrard. There are several categories of Non-O visa. We are talking here non-O (based on being over 50), which many embassies around the world no longer issue.

UK recently started issuing 90 day Non-O's based on retirement again, and I think Australia did too. The US, and most of the EU countries are no I belive

If you come in on a 90 day Non-O you can apply for a yearly extension when that 90 day runs down by showing the proof of funds.

There is no 90 day extension on a Non-O visa for retirement, you either meet the requirements to get a year or you don't get an extension based on retirement.
