Can I extend my Non Immigrant O visa for additional time in Thailand without converting to a Non Immigrant O-A retirement visa?

Good morning all,

My husband and I are here in Thailand with a 90 day Non Immigrant O visa (50+).

When applying for the visa I was under the impression that it could be renewed for 2 x 90 days, however I have read that it would have to be converted to a Non Immigrant O-A retirement visa for an extra year if we wish to stay more than 3 months.

Is there any way we can simply extend for an extra month, two or three maximum ? As we are travelling around we do not have a permanent address, only hotel reservations.

Thanks for your help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user holds a 90-day Non Immigrant O visa (50+) and is seeking information on extending their stay in Thailand. They initially believed this visa could be renewed for two additional 90 days but have discovered that conversion to a Non Immigrant O-A retirement visa is required for a longer stay. The user inquires about the possibility of a shorter extension of one to three months, while traveling without a permanent address.

Sorry to learn of your situation.

The Non O which you have is used for retirement in Thailand. Not a tourism visa.

Once the 90 days is finished...you must leave Thailand or meet the requirements of a one year extension of stay based on retirement. Requiring 800,000 Thai baht in a Thai bank among other requirements.

If you plan to travel in SE Asia, only Cambodia is now OPEN. You could fly there and obtain a new Tourist Visa for Thailand which upon return would allow you 60 days on entry plus added 30 days = 90 days max stay in Thailand.

And will need to meet the then current requirements to enter Thailand including a Thailand Pass.
