TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses whether it is possible for an individual holding a retirement Non-O visa to rent a resort, employ staff, and profit from the business without actively working. The consensus in the comments is against this practice, as the visa restrictions prohibit the visa holder from engaging in any work-related activities, even in a managerial capacity.

If you're looking for a resort... The family has one at the bottom of Koh Chang that's in an awesome spot and it's mothballed since covid.. All the furniture is imported from Indonesia and top quality. The location is 5 star. Just couldn't be arsed opening it back up as a job is the reason why we never opened it back up.
bullshit you can do most of all things, you can repair, manage and run, problem is the licences you need, so you needs Thai person or a built a company
if you have a work permit sure. But that's not what the question was. They asked if they can own a business on a retirement visa. They can't do any of the things you just said while on a retirement visa.
