I have a 5 year DTV. I’m thinking of getting a non-o visa as I intend to live in Thailand and would like a Thai bank account. If I get a non-o does it mean I lose my DTV? I don’t know why I would still need the DTV but I’m curious how it works
Answer summary
The user is considering obtaining a Non-O visa in addition to their current 5-year DTV visa in Thailand and is uncertain about the implications of holding both. Commenters clarify that you cannot hold two visas simultaneously; thus, if you want to obtain a Non-O visa, you must renounce your DTV. The discussion also touches on various methods for managing finances in Thailand without a Thai bank account and the visa application process, indicating that the DTV cannot be invalidated by immigration but rather must be done through the issuing Thai embassy.
