Will a Thai-issued medical certificate be accepted for my OA retirement visa application from Australia?

ORIGINAL POSTER
I’m applying for OA retirement visa. I’m currently in Australia. The portal requires a medical certificate showing no prohibitive diseases as indicated in Ministerial Regulation No.14 (B.E. 2535), issued from the country where the application is submitted.

I have an existing Medical Certificate (5 Disease) issued by Wattanapat Hospital Samui, dated 1 February 2026. Could you please advise whether this Thai-issued certificate will be accepted, or if I need to obtain a new certificate from an Australian GP before submitting the application?

Thanks so much.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is applying for an OA retirement visa from Australia and inquires if a Thai-issued medical certificate, dated 1 February 2026, will be accepted for the application, which requires a certificate showing no prohibitive diseases from the submitting country. Community comments suggest verifying with the embassy, as policies can differ, and indicate that obtaining a new medical certificate from an Australian GP may be advisable due to age and legibility requirements.

The certificate must be clearly legible and less than 3 months old.

Any reason you aren't applying for a Non O? No mandatory insurance, health certificate, or background check etc
