Hello all...
1 year Non-O (Marriage) Multi Entry from Savannakhet expires on October 16th. I'm currently in Thailand and while I understand I could still exit/enter to get another 90 days and extend a further 60 days. I'm currently quite "free" so figured I might as well get a new 1 year Non-O from Savannakhet as opposed to doing a border bounce and then finding work/travel getting in the way later.
I'm targeting to head to Savannakhet towards the end of the month (after the Non-O expires), but for (future) reference, is it possible to apply for a new Non-O _BEFORE_ the current Non-O expires?
TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster (OP) is inquiring about the possibility of applying for a new 1-year Non-O visa (Marriage) at the Savannakhet Thai Embassy before their current visa expires. They plan to do a visa run before the expiration of their current visa on October 16th, aiming for a more convenient application to avoid complications with future travel or work. Responses indicate that typically, one cannot apply for a new visa while a valid one is in their passport, although practices may vary at different locations like Savannakhet. It's also advised to ensure that proof of spousal relationship is provided at the time of application.
