Hello all...

1 year Non-O (Marriage) Multi Entry from Savannakhet expires on October 16th. I'm currently in Thailand and while I understand I could still exit/enter to get another 90 days and extend a further 60 days. I'm currently quite "free" so figured I might as well get a new 1 year Non-O from Savannakhet as opposed to doing a border bounce and then finding work/travel getting in the way later.

I'm targeting to head to Savannakhet towards the end of the month (after the Non-O expires), but for (future) reference, is it possible to apply for a new Non-O _BEFORE_ the current Non-O expires?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster (OP) is inquiring about the possibility of applying for a new 1-year Non-O visa (Marriage) at the Savannakhet Thai Embassy before their current visa expires. They plan to do a visa run before the expiration of their current visa on October 16th, aiming for a more convenient application to avoid complications with future travel or work. Responses indicate that typically, one cannot apply for a new visa while a valid one is in their passport, although practices may vary at different locations like Savannakhet. It's also advised to ensure that proof of spousal relationship is provided at the time of application.

I believe that the OP has the answers needed for his question. We wish him success in obtaining the One year multiple entry Non O Visa as Married to Thai at Savannakhet Thai Embassy.

as a rule no you can't get a new Non-O visa while you have a valid one still in the passport BUT no telling what Savannakhet would do

If you don't want that last 90 day entry on this Non-O just exit AFTER the current visa runs out (next monday) and you'll be fine getting a new visa

Keep in mind Savannakhet has been asking people where their wife is (AND giving people only 90 day single entry if they don't have their spouse with them or at least a letter from them asking the consulate issue you a year long, multi-entry visa) so you might want to do one of those two things ๐Ÿ™‚

As always, thanks for the very specific advice.

Will be traveling with the Thai wife AND preparing the standard letter as per previous requirements (to be safe).

just so you know, they are so hit-n-miss up there, some people skate right thru with the year/multi application without being asked where your wife is or having the letter and some people get grilled

Good you're at least covering your bases so you get the visa you want though (y)

For sure... I'm a sky is falling kind of guy so should be good. Also doesn't hurt that I'm a Malaysian passport holder so visa costs 0 THB.
