Hi all!

Currently I have Non-Immigrant Visa "O", registered in Krabi. However, I want to fly out from Bangkok to another country.

It is my first time asking for a re-entry permit, and I do have some questions about it.

As I understood from immigration, if I am flying out not in Krabi, I can ask the re-entry permit at the airport in Bangkok. (BKK)

- Where in the airport can this re-entry permit be obtained?

- Are they open every day? What are the opening hours?

- How long does it take at the airport? As I will have a few hours of time between the flights.

- If I would ask the re-entry permit in Krabi a few days ahead of flying out of the country in Bangkok, would that be a problem?

TIA! 🙏🏽

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking information regarding obtaining a re-entry permit for their Non-Immigrant Visa "O" at Bangkok airport. Key points include the location to acquire the permit, the operating hours, expected processing time, and whether it is feasible to obtain the permit in Krabi before flying out.

You can buy two times a reentry or you can buy a multi re entry. The last one is for three. Re entries

The single re-entry is ONE re-entry. The multi-entry is UNLIMITED re-entries.

I do understand this part, but does the re-entry count based on the whole year, or per 90-days report?

Knowing that my 1-year visa expires February 2025, if I leave the country in April 2024 and in December 2024 - should I get a re-entry permit single use for both times? Or should I get a multiple re-entry permit?

Re-entry permits have nothing to do with 90 day reports. You report if you are in the country for 90 consecutive days. If you aren’t you don’t report.

Get two separate single entry permits. Only 2,000 baht as opposed to 3,800.

thanks for confirming Stuart! So I suppose multiple re-entry permit is more convenient for people leaving the country more than 4 times.

Exactly or for those that need to save space in their passport. Some don’t want the hassle of having to get a permit every time they need to leave and just buy a multiple at the same time as their year extension. Others prefer to save the cost and apply if and when needed.

You can get a re-entry permit at a local immigration office or you can do so at an international airport. All of them have desks open 24 hours 7 days a week. Some are not “manned” all the time but just ask the immigration officer and they will get you someone to process it. Most airports will charge you an extra 200 baht if you don’t have the photos and copies needed.

I have one more question
@Stuart ********
, regarding the single vs. multiple entry. My 1-year visa is valid until February 2025.

- I plan to travel in April 2024, leave Thailand and enter again in May 2024.

- I also plan to travel in November 2024 and re-enter Thailand again.

In this case, should I get a re-entry permit single use for both times? Or should I get a multiple re-entry permit? Quite confused about this.
