I would like to get a 2-month tourist visa for a stay in Thailand starting on August 6. Before that, I will be in the capital city of Chile, Santiago, on June 20. Could I get my two-month visa at that time, and use it on Aug. 6, or do I have to get the two-month visa right before Aug. 6? Is there a time limit between obtaining the visa and actually entering Thailand? Thank you so much for your answers.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster inquires about the timing for applying for a 2-month tourist visa for Thailand while they will be in Santiago, Chile. They want to know if they can obtain the visa on June 20 and use it starting August 6, or if it needs to be acquired closer to their entry date. Comments provide insights on visa validity, mentioning that the Single Entry Tourist Visa is valid for 90 days from issue, thus allowing for flexibility in application dates.

I'm not entirely understanding section 8 and exactly what it refers too

Also, you could fly in and get a visa exemption for 30 days, and then extend that for another 30 at an immigration office inside the country.

Seems it is possible to apply
