Should I get a tourist visa for Thailand in the UK or at the embassy in Taipei?

Hi all

I will be flying from the UK to Taiwan for 2 weeks at the end of October and then onto Thailand from there for a further 2 months.

Would it be easier/preferable in your opinions to apply for a 2 month tourist visa from here in the UK (bearing in mind the new system and that I don't live near an embassy) or just to go to the embassy in Taipei?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around whether it's better to apply for a 2-month tourist visa for Thailand from the UK or at the embassy in Taipei. Several commenters suggest that obtaining the visa beforehand in the UK could be more reliable, as the process in Taipei may be challenging. Additionally, alternatives like entering Thailand on a visa-exempt entry and extending it for an additional 30 days are explored. The participants emphasize planning ahead to avoid potential complications during travel.

I would say definitely get the visa from the UK before you wing your way to Taipei because that Thailand Trade and Economic Office in Taipei (there is no thai consulate) can be hard on issuing tourist visas.

Get the TV online pick it up in Hull or wherever your closest too save aggravation when traveling

Kieran Barry good luck you could fly to Laos or just get 30 day exempt and extend for 30 then do a border bounce for another 30 that you can also extend for 30 again

as I said, im nowhere near an embassy here and it would be a real hassle to get to hull, London etc. However, im aware it can be done by post but that it has all become more complicated of late

Arrive on a visa exempt and extend it. Gets your 2 mths

The visa is valid for 90 days from the day attached in your passport, organize all before you start travel or do it on the way to Thailand, Choice is yours.

I actually want 90 days so was planning to come in on a 60 day visa and then apply for a 30 day extension once that expires

Depends if you want 2 calendar months...or 60 days. A visa exempt (30 day) entry can be extended (another 30 days) for 1900THB once in thailand.
