We're from the UK & stopping in Bkk for 3days on way to Oz. I know we can get a visa waiver for those 3 days. Does anyone know if we can we apply NOW in the UK for the longer 2month paid visa that we can use several weeks AFTER when we return end of Sept? So will hopefully have that visa in the passport (or is it an evisa?) and can use it when we choose? Can I enter the country while keeping a visa unused for later or does it void the validity? Also is it easy to get the 2month visa as used to be same day in Liverpool office whichs closed now? 😜 Cheers!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK traveler inquiring about applying for a Thai Single Entry Tourist Visa while stopping in Bangkok for 3 days seeks guidance on whether they can secure this visa in advance for later use. Comments highlight that the visa is valid for 90 days from issuance and is now processed online as an e-visa. It’s suggested that the traveler could potentially not present the visa upon initial entry to circumvent issues with its timing. Insights about 30-day on-arrival visas and extensions are also shared, providing options for extended stays in Thailand.

30 days on arrival then leave then return another 30 days on arrival no visa needed

you can apply for tourism extension if you enter on visa-exempt, no need to leave and enter Thailand again, but that is 60 days 59 nights stay maximum

You could get the Thai tourist visa in Australia.

, It's not really convenient for travelers to apply for a tourist visa in Australia since you need to send a passport by post to get the visa sticker.

You can TRY. If you have a visa you're supposed to use it when you enter, but because it's evisa you don't have to show it since it's just an email.

They might question it when you go to enter Thailand the 2nd time and they see your previous entry date and the issue date on the visa, but no one knows what they'll do. Evisa is pretty new.

Just remember that the visa will only be valid for 90 days from the date it's issued, so don't go for it too early if you try this.

A lot of hassle, you get 30 day on arrival, you can extend 30 days for 1900b

But the entry of 60 days with the visa can also be extended with 30 days. May be a hassle for you but there are people who like to stay maximum 90 days.

The 2month paid visa is called a Single Entry Tourist Visa and is valid 90 days from day of issue.

Things did change many moons ago, you apply using this website and you will get the visa by e-mail, with the order to print and show on request bij check in and show on passport control to enter Thailand. If you want to save you visa for a few weeks later, do not show at passport control, there is nothing but only a print out.

As it is applied on line and send by e-mail a one day visit to a Thai Consulate is no longer needed or wanted.
