Happy new year to everyone here. I just have a quick inquiry. I am currently on non o based on marriage and this is my first time so it means I havenβt done the extension. However, I do have some emergency that I need to fly out soon. My question is, can I apply for the re-entry visa while just having the non o single entry visa without any extension yet?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A single entry Non-O visa based on marriage allows you to apply for a re-entry visa. However, you need to be aware that this visa only provides a 90-day stay and the re-entry permit does not extend this duration. You must return before the expiration of your 90-day stamp. If you find that you need more time, consider applying for a 60-day extension for visiting family in Thailand before obtaining your re-entry permit.

do you have the Non-O based on marriage to a THAI national? If you do, and if you needed more time (as in you couldn't get back before the 90 day stamp expires) you could get the 60 day "visit thai family" extension THEN buy the re-entry permit so you can exit the country. That will give you an additional 2 months on your 90 day stamp and with a re-entry you can leave/come back no issues
you apply for the extension before your 90 day stamp runs out (you can apply any time you have 30 days or less left on your current stamp) you will pay the 1900baht and you will get an under consideration stamp (in bangkok it's for 3 weeks now but most offices it's for 30 days) then you go back on that date and get the year extension inked in.
IF you need to travel after you've applied for the year extension and are on the under consideration stamp you MUST buy a re-entry permit (and it will be valid only for that u/c stamp)
Yes you can get a re-entry permit on a single entry Non-O visa but remember that visa only gives you a 90 day stamp and a re-entry permit doesn't add any time to that stamp. You have to get back before that stamp expires so you could apply for your yearly extension.
