My son is coming over next week on a single O Visa from the USA to get a bank account setup and other things in preparation for a move.

After <30 days he will return to the US to get ready to move.

Is the O Visa canceled after he returns to the US?

Does he have to reapply for Another O Visa to return?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The single O Visa allows for temporary stays; however, if your son leaves Thailand without a re-entry permit, his visa will effectively end upon departure. To return to Thailand, he would need to either obtain a re-entry permit before leaving or apply for a new Non-O visa for his next visit. Additionally, he should prepare to meet specific requirements, such as ensuring funds are properly seasoned in a bank account for any future extension applications.

You’ll need to ensure that funds are seasoned for two months in a bank account prior to applying for the one-year extension of stay, which should be factored into planning.

If he leaves without a re-entry permit then his visa (actually the “allowed to stay stamp” as the visa is used already) would be finished.

Depending on when he’s wanting to return he could get a re-entry permit to keep his allowed to stay date “alive” or he can apply for a new Non O visa for the next visit.
