Hey! Could do with some advice, firstly to know Iโm on my 3rd 30day visa exemption at the moment. Havenโt extended any of them yet. 1 Jan, 1 Jun and 1 August. But need to stay for a further 60days after this one expires end of this month. Whatโs my best option? Extend this one for 30days then visa run? Do I risk being not let back in if I do visa run? Is there a better option?
Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster is currently on their third 30-day visa exemption and seeks options for extending their stay in Thailand for an additional 60 days. Responses suggest applying for a 30-day extension for 1900 baht at a local immigration office, followed by a 'border bounce' to obtain another free 30-day entry. Alternatively, acquiring a tourist visa from a Thai consulate could also be considered, with emphasis on the risks associated with multiple entries. The community advises using a border run service for ease and reducing the likelihood of being denied entry during a visa run.
That is between you and the officer you face at passport control when you stamp back into the country. There's not a person on this group who can answer that question with any degree of accuracy. It's a total crap shoot.
With that being said, if you haven't used your two free land entries and use a service to get you out and back you should be fine (trying to save a satang or three and bounce yourself COULD end up costing you more if you pick the wrong place to bounce at)
Even getting a tourist visa from a thai consulate is no guarantee you get back into thailand, only that IF they let you in you get in for 60 days, <- but getting a tourist visa at a nearby consulate and then entering by land has low exposure to having any issues entering

I think you need to understand the difference between two things
๐ฉ๐๐ฆ๐ ๐ฅ๐จ๐ก - is where you RUN to a thai consulate in another country and BUY a visa
๐๐ข๐ฅ๐๐๐ฅ ๐๐ข๐จ๐ก๐๐ - is where you go to the border stamp out of thailand BOUNCE in-n-out of another country and back into thailand <- which you can do by air or land..

THESE are the common found requirements for the 30 days extension of stay at your local Thai immigration office. Be sure to have a TM30 address registration on file with them.

And I suggest you ask an experienced border run service company to take you to the Thai border and re-enter the same day.
Ask your local expat groups for their recommended border run service company.

Yes...Get the 30 day extension of stay at your local Thai Immigration office for 1900 Thai baht.
THEN if you want to Stay longer...
DO a land BORDER BOUNCE...
Gets you 30 days stamp as Visa Exempt
And one 30 Day extension of stay.
You can do a maximum of 2 LAND BORDER BOUNCE entries into Thailand EACH CALENDAR YEAR.
DO NOT ๐ซ fly into Thailand...
You are at risk of being questioned by Thai Immigration Officers upon arrival and DENIED entry.
Bottom line... you're on thin ice with your many entries into Thailand... Suggest you have a Plan B for the next time you try to Enter Thailand by air.
Thanks for the reply! I think I will do just that. Any preferences on which land border? (Iโm not desperately trying to save money so thatโs not a issue) just wondered if any are known to be less hassle than others?
what part of "contract with a service to bounce you out and back" are you not glomming onto.
Last thing you need to do is pick a piss poor border crossing get stuck in the other country, be told you have to FLY into thailand and then get denied entry when you fly in. <- because that's NOT gonna save you any money
How about just posting on a group related to where you live in thailand and ask for border bounce/visa run companies ?
Koh Tao but can go to wherever is likely to cause me the least issues!

You might as well apply for the 30 day extension on this entry.
You're allowed TWO free 30 day visa exempt entries by land in a calendar year. So if you haven't taken both of those yet, you could contract with a service provider to bounce out/back and get a new 30 day visa exempt entry after this 30 day extension runs down.
OR
You could slog to a thai consulate in a nearby country and BUY a single entry tourist visa which would stamp you in for 60 days
Itโs not about fooling anyone, I just canโt be bothered with all the travelling about in one day, Iโd prefer to chill somewhere for a couple of days. And the milking/free part. If paying for the 60day visa makes my life easier Iโll do that no issues!

Thanks both! Where ever will present my with the least issues, this isnโt a money saving exercise. Cost isnโt a issue. Iโm thinking
Also if I left by air, stayed somewhere for a few days to a week. Doesnโt this present any further issues?
you said you need two more months, take the 30 day extension bounce out and back by land, that buys you the two months, and if you want take the 30 day extension on that land bounce entry too, that's 3 months
just so long as you know you ain't fooling anyone at passport control when you stamp back in. They'll know you're just milking another free entry stamp to thailand ๐
