I have just come back from Kanchanaburi immigration office. I was planning to go to Savannakhet today for a new non-o multi entry for marriage visa, but decided it was too risky to leave the country. Immigration told me they would give me a sixty day extension, and follow that up with another sixty days if I was in the middle of applying for an in-country marriage visa, which is what I intend to do. I left mightily relieved, and I hope that the many others in a similar situation are allowed to do this around Thailand.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user shared their recent experience at the Kanchanaburi immigration office regarding their non-o multi-entry marriage visa plans. They decided against traveling to Savannakhet and received a 60-day extension with potential for another 60 days while applying for an in-country marriage visa. Comments on the post caution that experiences may vary across different immigration offices.

Thank you for your update, and I would caution people to take the O/P's experience as just that, something ONE person experienced at ONE immigration office in the country. Their experience in NO WAY means you will have a similar one at your immigration office.
Check with your office to see what if anything they will do.
i know what you mean but wont be crossing into Savannakhet unless 100% sure maybe go along with the first yearly extension i meet the requirements its just the multi o suited me for going out to MaeSai/ Tachiliek every 90 days which i dont mind
with the way corona is spreading I would think hard before committing to any multi entry visa. Even next Monday into Laos is a tight call, depending on your nationality. But a border run in three months time, who knows? Good luck anyway.
