Yesterday I passed through Don Mueng airport and was approached by a wandering 3 man team from immigration as I sat in departures . They were incredibly helpful and spoke excellent English. I am currently on an extension of stay as married to a Thai . The last extension ended on the 27 th May . Previously I went to Khon Khon immigration to get a further 60 day extension but was informed I would be covered by the current amnesty. Today the senior immigration officer within the team informed me that I could simply apply again for the same 60 day extension any time up to the 31 st July . Appreciate there maybe a variance in the information other people are getting but this was solely what I was told as of yesterday evening.

TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat shared their experience at Don Mueng airport, where they received clear information from immigration officers about applying for an extension of stay due to being married to a Thai citizen. Despite previous confusion regarding the amnesty rules, they learned that they could apply for a 60-day extension until July 31. Other commenters expressed gratitude for the assistance from Thai authorities and noted improvements in immigration procedures.

thanx for that update. It does appear that the way the amnesty was written would be that if you hadn't applied for an extension (other than the can't travel due to covid-19 one) before you went on the amnesty that you could apply for it when the amnesty was ending.
