How do I navigate the 60-day extension process for a multi-entry Non-O visa based on marriage in Thailand?

So this morning I finally got the 60 day extension for my (expired) multi entry non O based on marriage. Was a bit worried about the expired part but i guess amnesty fills that space. Samut Prakan Immigration, standard (covid) procedure, somewhat busy but we were done within an hour and everyone was pleasant and helpful. Thanks to this group, especially the admins for the support, information and straight-talk! See you in late November!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their experience successfully obtaining a 60-day extension for an expired multi-entry Non-O visa based on marriage at Samut Prakan Immigration. They expressed concern over the expired visa but noted amnesty provisions helped facilitate the process. The visit was efficient and pleasant, taking about an hour. Comments provided additional advice about maintaining a Thai bank deposit for future extensions and sought clarification on the immigration stamp received.

, just says you got this extension from the covid-19 amnesty.. If you got it based on having a thai wife, have her read it for you :P

Sorry for the late reply, I'm honestly not sure. We definitely have one on file at that office as we've owned the same home and have been going there 5+ yrs...Really not sure if it's a requirement for this extension but like I said, we already have one on file for sure. Wish I could be more helpful on that.

did you have to show a TM 30? I'm going to get my 60 days family visit next week but I only just heard about this TM 30 as iv just been living with my Thai in-laws house. Cheers

Did they give you a free stamp dated to Sept 26 before giving you the 60 day extension stamp?

they don't give you a free stamp dated to the 26th. They just issue you an extension dated the date you applied that is valid for the 60 days starting from Sept 27, so good until Nov 25

Thank you for your report.

Remember if you plan on staying...you need to deposit 400,000 Thai baht into your Thai bank account two months before you apply for a one year extension of stay.

Otherwise have Plan B on leaving or obtain a correct visa to stay.

Good Luck.
