I have a multiple-entry tourist visa. Entered March 8th with 60 days then went on amnesty. Is it possible to request a 30 day extension? My sticker has a valid until August 24th date if that makes an impact. Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the possibility of extending their multiple-entry tourist visa by 30 days after entering Thailand on March 8th, followed by a period of amnesty. Responses indicate that requesting a 30-day extension is possible but not guaranteed due to potential visa expiration issues. Key factors include the nature of the visa versus entry stamp, the necessity for embassy documentation, and the understanding that while the visa may still be valid, it does not allow for extended stay post-entry stamp expiration.

okay people I think we need to understand the difference between a visa and an entry stamp and what each allows you to do
A visa does not let you STAY in thailand it allows you to request to get in AND if you're allowed in you'll get stamped in for the length of time that visa allows (in the O/P's case on a tourist visa for 60 days)
It's the 60 day ENTRY STAMP that is what lets you stay IN thailand. So if the O/P entered using a tourist visa in March, he was stamped in for 60 days until May and then he went on the amnesty until now.
That the VISA itself is still valid means NOTHING because he's not gonna exit and try to re-enter on it.

Here's my advice:
1. According to the flyer that was posted, the only reason why a 30 day extension would be granted is *IF* your embassy issues a letter saying that you can not return back home, *AND* the immigration office agrees. *IF* they approve your extension, it will be 1,900 THB.
2. You can also go in to your local immigration office, and ask them to grant you another 30 days without any embassy letter. However, expect them to want you to submit a letter from the embassy.
*IF* your embassy does not issue the letters, I would make plans to leave Thailand no later than September 26.
Technically your visa expired in May, and being that you did not extend it then, while it was still valid, it has expired, and you are on amnesty from overstay fines. You can try to get an extension, but also be ready to book your plane flight home.
you should visit your local immigration and get a definitive answer on your situation and extension request. I think immigration has made it clear that the amnesty is pretty much over.
People seem to not like this, but your plan B, who take care the house, garden and pets, a ticket and a packed suitcase might be a good thing to start up
