Can I extend my visa exempt stamp and then switch to a Non-B visa?

Changing jobs. My previous and new employer could not switch the visa extension on the day my work permit was cancelled, so I had to leave the country and return on a visa exempt stamp dated until the 15th Feb. New employer has still not arranged to switch the stamp to a non-b visa.

If I extend the visa exempt stamp to another 30 days will immigration be able to transfer that extension to a non-o B?

Or is it better to start making arrangements to leave the country again?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks guidance on whether they can extend their visa exempt stamp for 30 days while awaiting their employer to process their Non-B visa, and if this extension can be later transitioned into a Non-B visa. Commenters confirm that extending the current visa exempt stamp is possible and will allow the user additional time to apply for the Non-B visa without issues.

No issue at all getting the 30 day extension on your current 30 day visa exempt entry stamp and then applying for the initial 90 day Non-B visa from that stamp.

Many times employees run out of time on their 30 day stamp (because the employer can't get the documentation together fast enough) and taking that 30 day extension for 1900baht buys you more time to get everything in order so you can apply

You will have no problem applying for the Non-B for 2000baht on a 30 day extension of a 30 day visa exempt stamp
